On 7th March 2018 a water main burst on Tooting High Street. Similar scenes were witnessed on Upper Street in Islington in 2017 when a trunk water main burst leaving residents and local businesses with flooded properties.

In addition to businesses that are directly affected by a flooding incident, local enterprise in the flooded area suffers a reduction in footfall following a flooding incident both during the incident and whilst remedial works are being carried out.
